Happy Birthday, Kyra!

Kyra had a wonderful day yesterday. She was so excited. Before the party, she kept asking everyone if they knew what special day it was. Here are some pictures of her party.

Why it's nice to have friends who work at Disneyland.

Dan and Bridget are so nice to let us come to Disneyland so often! We get free parking, free entrance to the parks, good company, and the freedom to spend as much or as little time there as we like without feeling like we're not getting our money's worth.

And it's really nice when Bridget knows the guy emceeing the Playhouse Disney show. That's us waiting in the 'special' line on the left, and everyone else on the right.

We also got front row seats, and a shout out of Kyra's name by the emcee.

Interesting puppets

And of course, Kyra had to see the princess show. She also had to wear this shirt, since it's the one she wore last time we went. She refers to it as her Disneyland shirt and it's a battle to get her to wear it any other time.

Little kid, bigger kid, biggest kid. (Biggest kid is getting smaller, can you tell?)

Trying not to think about work:

Here's what I got when I asked Kip for a picture of him with Jack:

Kyra and Jack had a great time. We went in honor of Kyra's birthday, which is tomorrow. Happy birthday, kiddo!

Super macro

Several people have asked me recently about what camera I use. I always think of this picture of Kip's manly (read: gross up close) fingers. Click on the photographs to see the large version. The super macro feature is one of the things I like best about my camera. The second picture is of frost on the car window. It also has a 'last 5' feature that lets me hold the button down, take up to 40 shots, and then it only saves the last 5 shots whenever I let go. That way I can hold down the button until the lightning strikes and all I have to do is let go in time. One day we'll upgrade to a Canon digital SLR, but I think I'll always hold on to my Fujifilm S7000 - just for the super macro capability.
