Home Made Bread

What you don't hear is Kyra singing:
"I looked out the window and what did I see? Bread popping on the apricot tree."

The appropriate way

to sit next to your sibling is as far away as possible.

Strike Team

I just got the phone call that I've been anticipating for the past 4 months - Kip got called out to be on a strike team for a wildfire out in Yucca Valley. This is his first potentially big wildfire. He could come home as scheduled, or he could be there for days. It depends on how big the fire gets. Keep an eye on his blog for the full story in the days to come. Wish him luck!

For the record...

I beat Kip.

The Marks left Guitar Hero at our house this week. Apparently, I have a lot of free time (or, more truthfully, a very messy house). I just HAD to play this song perfectly, and do it before Kip did. What? The Webers are competitive? No Way!! I don't want to admit how many near misses there were. Kyra asks at the end of each song - "do you rock, Mommy?"

A house for Pepper

Kyra has been building forts again. She built this one for Pepper. Pepper didn't take residence, much to Kyra's dismay. And even more to Kyra's dismay, I eventually had to clean the books up.

A Different View

These are some shots of the crawfish boil that were taken by me instead of Katie.

Bandanna guy was our favorite at the boil. He reminds me of what Hulk Hogan would look like if he were out of shape.

Chows on!

One of the larger specimens destined for that pot!

The Americana

Recently the Americana opened up in Glendale. It's a combination outdoor mall and residential building. The city is hoping to compete with places like Old Town Pasadena and has spent a lot of money on the project. A couple of weeks ago I went to the new movie theater there and discovered where they had to make budget cuts.

I thought I'd check out the arcade in a fancy new theater.

This was all there was. It's a single video game console that has a couple of obsolete games from the early 90's and a claw game where you can grab stuffed toys.
