For those of you who are not cringing already,

this is what is known as the East L.A. interchange. This is a picture of me taking the kids on a 'short' ride down the 5. The idiots planners who designed this freeway decided it would be o.k. to reduce one of the largest freeways in Southern California down to two lanes. Due to traffic and a couple of wrecked cars, my 2 hour trip down ended up taking 4 hours.
